In 1974 we began by building storage sheds, while in high school, for the Los Angeles Unified School District. They called us Junior Carpenters. We dreamed of one day of owning our own Company, with emphasis on building schools. Many years later our dream became real. The Company was founded in 2002 by Joe H. Gonzalez and Gregory C. Koenig. We began by using our construction experience to assist the client in achieving its goal of building educational facilities to meet the needs of its citizens, and the future of the City of Los Angeles, through managing the development, design and construction of kindergarten through twelfth grade schools.

Joe has over twenty-four years of construction management experience in educational, commercial and public works projects. He has worked for large construction and construction management firms prior to starting the Company, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. Gregory has more than thirty-four years of commercial experience in the construction industry. Gregory holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in both Civil and Aerospace Engineering. He has worked with prominent construction companies prior to founding the Company. Both Joe and Gregory are the only principals of the Company, and are “hands-on” working participants of the construction management team, while their extensive experience enhances the quality of the projects for all our clients.

JG Management Consultants, Inc. is a small and emerging business enterprise as recognized by the State of California, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Metropolitan Water District, and is a fifty-percent minority owned corporation. Our experience is concentrated in the Southern California area. The JGMC team is comprised of development and construction managers, architects, and support staff. The key ingredient to the success of the JGMC team is that most team members have been working together as far back as 1986. As an example, our dedicated team began working together managing the design and construction of the $46M Port of Entry at Calexico, CA, followed by the construction of the $67M DreamWorks Animation Studios, located in Glendale, CA, which was awarded the Project Manager of the Year award in 1998 by the Associated General Contractors. The team moved-on and constructed the $250M Soka University of America located in Aliso Viejo, CA from 1998 through 2002. Through our experience we realized that many school districts could benefit from our construction and project management knowledge and skills. We therefore established JGMC to meet the specialized building needs of educational, commercial and public facilities.

JGMC is dedicated to pre-construction and construction management services, applying all our experience, knowledge and commitment to significantly represent and achieve the client’s goals. We believe that our clients will greatly benefit from our expertise in the field of construction, whether the client has elected to use our extensive experience from project inception or at the completion of the construction document phase.
